As the premier autism preschool in Utah, we are proud to offer a program that focuses on the individual needs of each child. The preschool program serves children ages 2 through 5. Our enriched staffing ratio allows for intensive and individualized programming, high rates of attention and reinforcement, and data collection to monitor progress. The day is broken into a variety of individual, small and large group activities that address each child’s individualized goals. Groups and activities include individualized programming and typical preschool activities such as center time, circle time, song and story, snack, art, fine motor groups, recess to promote learning in natural contexts, and generalization of skills.
At Pingree we believe that progress is maximized through an individualized, multi-treatment approach founded in a structured routine designed for positive increments of growth. Our goal is to help our children learn through various methods to develop the skills it takes to cope with planned and unplanned changes in routine. Some approaches are used in combination throughout the day and include, but are not limited to:
Day Treatment Program (Preschool)
Referrals to the preschool program are parent-driven. Newly registered students are placed on a list for consideration for placement. An evaluation is then scheduled to determine if the services are appropriate for the child. Once the initial referral has been made, the family is eligible to participate in all parent education nights.
